Hello, we’re Spotless!
Our adventure started with director Ilona, who has lived in Cornwall for over 15 years.
After completing her degree in Falmouth, she spent eight years working in the hospitality industry where she gained valuable experience across a range of departments, soon realising her true vocation was in housekeeping with a passion for interior design.
Using her strong eye for detail and valuable experience in the industry, Spotless Cleaning was born with a vision of delivering a spotless standard of housekeeping, teamed with outstanding customer service to property owners throughout Cornwall.
Ilona’s priority is making a house into a home, balancing a focus on the aesthetic and charm of a property, with its functionality and comfort. She understands how hard it is for homeowners, who often live away from their property, to find someone they can trust to look after and care for their home and aims to provide this much needed service to the market with Spotless Cleaning.
Very quickly, Ilona’s business gained the attention of holiday homeowners throughout Cornwall and as word spread, the business grew to the full-service property management agency it is proud to be today.
We have great ambition to build our business through our core values, which are: going the extra mile, professionalism, responsibility and consistency.

The Spotless Timeline
28.08.2015 – Ilona, after resigning from another job, desperately registers to be self-employed and starts housekeeping.
30.12.2015 – After being recommended to Aspect Holidays by another customer, Ilona works hard to turn a very tired property the owners have lost hope in into a popular holiday let and becomes noticed for her dedication and skills. The idea for Spotless is born.
10.02.2016 – We welcome the new year with a new logo and a small website as Ilona’s big idea turns into a business!
27.06.2016 – The team is growing, and our first T-shirts arrive!
02.09.2016 – Our first office – small but cosy…
20.06.2017 – Hard work and new gadgets arrive!
24.06.2017 – Spotless and Star Linen after a busy Saturday.
25.06.2017 – Starting to be seen.
11.2017 – Ilona claims the well-deserved title!
18.12.2017 – 7 sleeps until Christmas! Spotless cleaning extends service to include seasonal decorations!
11.02.2018 – Kickstarting into 2018 with gifts, cards and praises from our very satisfied customers!
12.05.2018 – Helping local heroes!
21.05.2018 – Big business step – changing the accounting system to Xero.
06.08.2018 – Well deserved rest after one of the busiest summer days of 2018! Spotless team looking happy as always.
16.08.2018 – As the busy season comes to an end, we take some time to reflect on how we have done, and decide it’s time to expand. We start our application process to receive Leader funds to invest in our in-house launderette. Busy and intense time for the business, writing plans and forecasts. Also trying to find a new, bigger unit.
02.01.2019 – Excellent start to 2019! We are very proud that St Nicholas Cottage is serviced by Spotless Cleaning and our high-end presentation has been noticed, see article here.
01.03.2019 – We receive the funds we applied for and start the move to our unit number 2!
24.04.2019 – We invest in high tech Electrolux Laundry equipment to start our in-house laundry. Everything is being installed and we are getting excited!
01.05.2019 – Final touches before guests arrive.
02.05.2019 – Grand opening of our new laundry unit was an amazing event! Ready for the hard work to begin.
01.06.2019 – Laundry unit is all up and running.
17.07.2019 – Always happy Team Spotless.
22.07.2019 – Our first advert in Cornwall Living goes live!
29.08.2019 – Another big step – new vans are purchased and delivered by our friend Company Hawkins Motors from Penryn.
18.09.2019 – We are hiring new staff, our first professional interviews in the new office.
21.09.2019 – End of the summer, some of our staff are returning to uni…
22.12.2019 – Alex, with great dedication, goes to visit our potential client far in the farm, just before Christmas and gets her van stuck in the mud. Thankfully Steve from 4Winds Garage rescues her, great teamwork!
03.2020 – As the Covid-19 pandemic strikes the world, we are in lockdown and close our business until further notice. Although we are not operating, we are busy thinking of new ways to ensure cleanliness and safety after lockdown finishes. Ozone clean idea is born.
02.05.2020 – One year since our unit launch and what a crazy year it has been! Reminiscing about time with friends that we hope we will see soon!
01.07.2020 – Despite the uncertainty, we have made a brave decision to expand the business and invest in new linen and towels – happy to offer linen hire to our clients.
04.07.2020 – Holiday season finally begins with a lot of uncertainty and challenges ahead of us. We prepare for the ‘new normal’ and are fully equipped with new PPE and safety measures.
25.08.2020 – New linen bags and labels.
07.10.2020 – Pictures being taken for our new website.
01.12.2020 – After a very challenging summer and working hard on business development, we are very proud to launch our new website!
12.04.2021 – After a very long winter, three lockdowns, and vaccination being rolled out, we are finally able to reopen the business. It is a struggle but we hope for a good season!
29.05.2021 – As the business kickstarts, so does our development! Ilona and Bex undergo a CMI management course and get their shiny certificates.
11.06.2021 – G7 summit in Cornwall starts and team Spotless was helping with the preparation of the biggest, high-profile event of the decade taking place in Cornwall. Very happy to be a part of it.
30.08.2021 – July and August 2021 were the busiest months in our short history, filled with hard work but also great teamwork and fun events!
